There are many factors that can cause damage to your roof. If issues are noticed early on and addressed quickly, you can save money by avoiding having to pay for a complete roof replacement. Some of the most common causes of roof damage come from moisture buildup which causes leaks, mold, and even rotting. If your roof isn’t properly ventilated, that will also cause major damage over time if left unchecked.
For commercial buildings, roof damage can result in downtime, damaged equipment, and other detrimental effects. Commercial roof maintenance doesn’t have to be a major disruption with Commonwealth Roofing. Read more below about our RoofSmart™ maintenance program and how you can extend the life of your commercial roof.

With summer quickly approaching there are several risks to be aware of regarding your commercial roof. The changing of the seasons and fluctuating weather patterns day-to-day can worsen minor problems and turn them into major ones overnight. In Kentucky, 2019 has already been one of the wettest years on record. Rain and moisture buildup is the number one risks all roofs face. If there are any weak spots in your roof, water can seep in and lead to rotting, leaks, and structural sag.
The implications of commercial roof damage can be detrimental. For our hospitality customers, reputation is everything and they risk major damage to their reputation for any structural problem that could and should be avoided through regular and proactive maintenance.

RoofSmart Maintenance Program
Through our RoofSmart program, we prioritize repair and maintenance so we can catch small issues before they become bigger. We start by researching the existing roof history and performing a thorough on-site survey. From that, we create a comprehensive list of required inventory needed for each building which always includes photos and notes that are keyed to a scale drawing of the roof.
About twice a year, we do a detailed inspection of your facility and roof system to catch any issues in their early stages. Everything we see as a potential problem is photographed and documented. Clearing debris from drains and gutters and minor repairs is also provided in this program.
Our final step is providing results and recommendations on how you can get the most out of your roof. We also include plans for future upgrades and replacements.
While ongoing maintenance is vital to extending the lifespan of your roof, we are also available in emergency situations as well. Be proactive in the health of your roof to avoid downtime and damaged equipment. Request an inspection.
